New SE infrastructure block in Singapore: Social Enterprise Association

Singapore remains one of the leading countries developing and encouraging social enterprise. In addition to the incubating Impact Investment Exchange Asia (IIXAsia) launching sometime in 2011, Singapore introduces the Social Enterprise Association. The association will create a critical link between social entrepreneurs and the resources they need to grow their organizations; from peer learning to financing, the association will provide resources for social enterprises.

From the SE Association website:

“The SE Association will build up a base of members comprising social enterprises, social entrepreneurs, and associate members comprising caring companies, other organisations that have an interest in developing the sector, as well as students and other individuals who want to learn more about it. It will aim to reach out to social enterprises of all types, which will include for instance, those addressing the concerns of the needy and disadvantaged, environmental and ecological concerns, the arts, culture and heritage.”
